Hi I'm Melody

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm a stay at home mama with four crazy, fun kids who keep me very busy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a very small family. I have one brother, no sisters. My parents became members of the church when they were young. My Mom came from Chile, South America and her family of 12 met the missionaries and were baptized. My Dad and his 3 sisters and 2 brothers grew up Catholic until the missionaries knocked on their door one day and they became members. So I've been a member all my life. I met my husband almost 13 years ago, while we were both in college. We now have 4 kids, 1 boy, three girls. I love being a mom, I love reading, I love laughing and being spontaneous, I love going to the movies, I love traveling, I love Chinese food, I love taking pictures, I'm always with a camera in hand, and someday want to become a professional photographer and travel the world. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life. With it, I have been able to find true happiness. To know that I have a Savior who loves me and a Father in Heaven who hears my prayers, means everything to me. I know that life is full of joy, but life is also full of hard times and growth. But I can always be comforted through those hard times with sincere prayer. I’m thankful for those hard times that have shaped me into who I am today. I have learned so much being a member of this church. I am still learning and know that everything experienced in life is a chance for me to learn and grow. I'm thankful that I can teach my kids right from wrong and have those values I hold dear, to help me. I am uplifted every time I read the scriptures, every time I attend church, every time I pray. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and have prayed about it and I KNOW, everything in it, to be true, without a doubt in my mind... this IS the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my life choosing the right and being a good example to my kids at all times. Though I fall short many times, I don't give up. I start my day out in prayer and I end my day with prayer. I love listening to the tender prayers from my children before bedtime. I feel that this has strengthened me and my family. I love serving in different callings in my ward. Currently I am able to teach provided lessons to the women in church. I love studying and preparing for my lessons. I have benefited so much from them. I love listening to the beautiful thoughts and feelings shared in class.
