Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in Gilbert Arizona. I am a father and a husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of two wonderful girls, and the husband of an amazing wife. I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I attended the local High School, and had a great time there, I was involved in Basketball, Cross Country and Track. After High School I submitted my request to serve a mission for the church and was called to the Ecuador Quito mission. I was elated as I had always wanted to learn Spanish. For the next two years I taught, worked and played with the wonderful people of Latacunga, Otavalo and Esmeraldas Ecuador. When I returned home, I started college education, I graduated May 2003 and then completed my MBA in 2005. During my schooling I was married and we had our two wonderful daughters. I put my self through my undergraduate degree by working for a stucco company and then went to work for a bank. I am currently a commercial banker, working for a large national bank.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for several reasons. The first and most important is that I have prayed to God to ask if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church on the earth today. The answers to those prayers I offered seeking the truth are some of the experiences I hold most dear today. The doctrines taught in the church offer the fullness of God's plan for the eternal destiny of his children. When I was 8 years old my younger brother passed away. He was 15 months old when he left this earth and the experience was one I do not hope to repeat. Our family was crushed, the thought of all the experiences he would miss, and selfishly all the experiences that my family and I would miss with him was devastating. We struggled to find peace, but it came through the knowledge we received as members of God's restored church. We knew that we would see my brother again, and that through our faithfulness as members of the church and through the sacrifice of our older brother Jesus Christ our family could be reunited and live eternally as a family unit in the presence of our heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I have had may opportunities to live my faith. My family has had the opportunity to meet great people in all of the congregations we have been able to attend. I have had the opportunity to help in several areas as a member of the church. I have worked in the youth programs of the church, I have taught Sunday School classes to young children and have been an active part of Boy Scouts of America through different opportunities afforded me by the church. Some of my favorite activities I have had is working with the youth as we would give service to widows, elderly, or those who need it. I have enjoyed, painting, mowing lawns, cleaning homes and windows. I have also had the opportunity to check in on several families on a monthly basis and have been able to develop wonderful relationships with these families as I am in their homes learning about them more deeply and and assisting in any way that they will allow me to help.
