Hi I'm Scott Earl

I'm a 27 year old law student, a football fanatic, a political junkie and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an enthusiastic person with a passion for life. I hope to make a positive change in the lives of people I meet and I hope to learn something from them along the way. The people in my life help me to be a better person and their friendship keeps a positive outlook. I love to laugh. Humor helps me get through my days and develop stronger friendships. I love learning. It drives me to accomplish more and understand the way things work. I love solving problems. The sense of accomplishment is so gratifying. I'm an avid sports fan. Watching the minutiae of the game and seeing the skills and strategies of others is captivating. I'm currently a Law School student, after majoring in Political Science and minoring in English. Literature teaches me so about the human soul. Politics helps me to understand the world around me. And I hope to make a difference in the legal community someday. I served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tallahassee, Florida. There I developed a love for Southern food and culture. I also learned how to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and I try to find ways to serve Him everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it helps me to be happy. I've found that through the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ I can find ways to enrich and bless my life. I know that the teachings of the Book of Mormon help me to be a better person and to be more like my Savior and that makes me happy. I also know that through Jesus Christ's teachings I can live with my Heavenly Father again. I find faith in Jesus Christ gives me fulfillment and purpose in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith primarily in 3 ways. First, I have faith in God, the Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. This faith helps me to understand that I have a Father in heaven that loves me deeply and wants me to receive all of His blessings. Knowing this empowers me to be a better person and to do all that my Father in heaven asks. Knowing that I have a Father in heaven helps me to view the people around me as my brothers and sisters, which motivates me to help them with whatever they stand in need of. Second, I seek to improve my understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and apply it to my life. Improving my understanding comes by developing both an intellectual and spiritual knowledge. I improve my intellectual knowledge by attending religious services, reading the scriptures, discussion with my friends and family, pondering the truths of the eternities, and observing life. While I have these intellectual conclusions I attempt to formulate from my life, my Father in heaven speaks to me through the Holy Ghost which gives me a witness of these lessons, teaches me further, and helps me to know of their truth. The Spirit is the link between my Father in heaven that connects me directly to Him. This is truly a divine gift. The Holy Spirit also helps me to apply these truths by encouraging me to make correct decisions in my life and overcome my mistakes and weaknesses. Finally, I live my faith by seeking to be a Christlike person. Charity is the pure love of Christ. I try to make this love a part of my life and have it govern my actions. I seek to share this love with all I come in contact with by improving as a person. As I share time with others I hope to be a better person for my associations with them and hope, in turn, that I can be a blessing in their life. As I serve others I can fell the love of God and it helps me to be happy and want to do more to help Him and His children. This helps me to feel peace in my life.
