Hi I'm Allyn

I'm a husband, a father of four awesome children, a lawyer, a golfer, and a sports fan. I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and went away to college. I got married young and we both worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs at a time to make it through those early years. We started a family and I went back to graduate school so I could support our growing family. Coming home to my wife and our four kids is the best part of any day. I could not imagine life without my family. I don't know whether I teach them more or learn from them more. Everything is better with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found what I believe to be the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. His teachings bring happiness and purpose to my life and the lives of my family. Each day I strive to follow His teachings and live a life that will allow me to enjoy the blessings promised to His disciples. While perfection is the ultimate goal, we know it is a journey and that there will be bumps along the way. That is why it is so important to learn and understand the meaning of the atonement. Following the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the only way to find true and lasting happiness in this life, and the life that follows. To have a road map as clear as this and not to follow it would not make any sense. It is a living and speaking road map that includes scriptures, a living prophet, and the principle of personal revelation, available to all who sincerely seek it.

How I live my faith

We attend regular worship services as a family. We have local and regional volunteer leaders that we support and work with in lots of ways. Right now I teach a sunday school course to an awesome group of 5 and 6 year-olds. Sometimes we get together to help move a new family into their house on short notice in the summer heat. Sometimes it's a middle of the night visit to a sick neighbor to pray with and bless them. At times, a family will need help with something as simple as a meal or two. It is a wonderful organization that allows for the growth of everyone involved. We have a lot of fun, too. The kids get together for dances regularly, and we all can participate in various team sporting events. Everyone has a chance to be involved and to serve others. That really makes the church unit a lot like a family unit. It's great to know that my family is part of that family, as well.
