Hi I'm Kassie

I'm a wife. I'm a college graduate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I consider myself to be a recent college graduate, even though I have been out of college for over a year. I majored in biology in college and I love learning about science, but I am still trying to find out what to do for a career. Currently, I work as an assistant special education teacher for fourth and fifth graders. It is something I never imagined myself doing, but I truly love helping these children! In free time I like to spend time with my husband, read, hike, play tennis, or play the flute.

Why I am a Mormon

I was "born a member" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. However, that does not mean I jsut blindly accepted what I was taught. The reason I have remained a member of the Church is because I know the truth of it. I have had opportunities to study and learn about the beliefs of many different religions. Though there is good and truth in most other churches, I know that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ is through the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World and the only way to eternal peace and joy. I know that as I follow the principles of His gospel and heed the words of past and current prophets I have had more happiness in my life than any other way. I know these things because of personal experiences and the feelings of good that accompany those experiences as I have lived the principles of the gospel.

How I live my faith

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is more than a simple belief and a few nice words. I live my faith by trying to emulate the life and teachings of my Savior. For me, living the gospel of Jesus Christ means striving to be more like Him everyday. I strive to have a positive attitude about life and everything I do. Most importantly, I try to treat others as precious children of God. This means being respectful, understanding, and caring to every person I come in contact with. I also seek to know the word of God by reading the holy scriptures daily, praying, and going to church weekly.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There are so many things that testify to me that there is a God. Everyday I look at the mountains or see a beautiful sunset and I know that there is a Divine Creator to all of this. The magnificence of the world and the intricate details are a testimony of God and His power. The fact that humans exist and function in all of their complexity could not have been a chance accident. I do not know the method by which God created all things, ut I do know that there is an order to this world and the patterns and seasons do not move by simple coincidence; God set forth the patterns and governs all His creations.
