Hi I'm Kim Johansen

I grew up in Nebraska. I played volleyball in college. Now, I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska (Go Huskers!) in a family with 8 kids. I had a wonderful childhood. I loved learning and sports growing up. I pursued both of these things in college. I played volleyball in college and studied education. I wanted to be a high school history teacher. Before my senoir year of college, I decided to go on a mission for the church and was called to Brazil. It was one of the best things I have ever done. I loved serving the Brazilian people and learning from them. After my mission, I finished my education got married and have recently had my first child. In my spare time I read, sew, make crafts and volunteer at a local high school with their volleyball team.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everytime that I follow one of the Lord's commandments I receieve more joy, peace and hope in my life. From a very young age, I learned that as I followed the Lord's commandments my life is easier and I feel better. My life is far from perfect and I have trials like eveyone else but I feel comforted in my trials through living the Lord's commandments and perseveing in prayer. I am so grateful to the Lord for his love and attention to me and my life. I am grateful also for the prophets of old and also the living prophet today, who spoke and speak and Lord's words leading me to my Savoir. I know the way to true lasting happiness can be found through the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am blessed through my efforts to follow it everyday.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to live my faith is through family prayer. Before my husband leaves in the morning and before we go to sleep at night, we say a family prayer. This starts and ends each day with our family focused on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also teach sunday school at church. I love doing this. It gives me the opportunity to study the scriptures in depth and gain a better understanding of my Savior. This year we are studying the New Testament in sunday school. It has been wonderful to study the Savior's life and teachings.

What is faith?

Kim Johansen
Faith is action. My faith is what leds me to be kind, to reach out to my fellow man, to keep the commandments, to go to church, to speak the way I do, dress the way I do and love those around me. Everything I do that is good is done because of my faith in God. Show more Show less
