Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small town in Arizona. I'm an Optometrist and I love the West.

About Me

I am the father of seven wonderful children and now 10 grandchildren. I love to garden, landscape, woodwork (I build hope chests for five of my six daughters), and have bees and chickens. I examine peoples' eyes for a living, and love to meet new people. I speak Spanish and love the Spanish speaking people I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

Just like most people, I'm a convert to the church. I was born and raised mormon, but everyone has to find out for him/herself if it is all true. And I did. I had a special witness that the church is true. I was reading the Book of Mormon one evening late, in the library on campus while I was going to college, and had a feeling come over me that I could never describe completely. I was as if it "washed over me", and filled me with this most incredible joy and happiness. In that moment I knew that all that I had been taught was true. Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God, and the Book of Mormon was really true and a witness of Christ. I knew that I had a Savior and a Father in Heaven that loved me. I cried for what seemed hours, but it was only minutes. In that moment, my faith in God was perfect. So, I am a convert just like anyone who learns of the church and reads, prays, and asks God to find out if it is true. It is! I know it is!

How I live my faith

I love being a member of this church. This is a church that really cares about the family, and gives hope to all who learn who they really are, children of a loving God. I can speak spanish so I help in the church with those who speak Spanish. We all come to love those whom we serve. This is not just a church found in America, but it is a world wide church, because we are all children of God, no matter where we are born, what color we are, what language we speak, or rich or poor. I love my wife with all my heart, and we have 7 children, and 10 and a half grandchildren. Families can be forever, if we do what a loving Father in Heaven has asked. I want to be the best person I can be, and learn all I can, and I want to be a family long after this life is over, because there is more after this life, much more.
