Hi I'm Jake

I'm an engineer, sports player, and a dad, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are lots of things that I enjoy doing. I love playing sports such as soccer, football, softball, and golf with my dad. Being a father of two boys means that I will get to play with them as they grow up. I am a recent college graduate and was fortunate enough to get a job as a civil engineer. I also like fishing, but I haven't quite figured out how to catch them yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings purpose to my life. The knowledge I have of Heavenly Father and His plan for me and my loved ones helps me make choices that bring peace of mind and conscience. Another reason I am a Mormon is because God has revealed to me personally that the principles of the Mormon faith are true!

How I live my faith

One of the great things about the Mormon faith is there are so many opportunities to serve. As members of the church we are given responsibilities that allow us to learn and grow through service. Currently I am working with the cub scouts in our neighborhood. This allows me to teach the boys about first aid, sports, engineering, and a number of other things that I first learned when I was a cub scout. I also have opportunities on various occasions to teach lessons in our Sunday classes and offer prayers during meetings. I love doing this because it gives me a chance to learn more about a topic so I can teach it to others.
