Hi I'm Blake

I've been in the military for over 20 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three kids who are now out of the house and in college and one of those is married. We have travelled the world with my military job and have loved it. I have spent my time in Special Operations as a rescue specialist and this has kept me away at times, but our family has always remained our highest priority. I was finally able to finish college at 35 years old and completed that goal before my kids got started! We stay active with mountain biking, wakeboarding, riding quads, snowboarding and love the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been across this world and have seen many wonderful sights. Unfortunately I have seen and been in many other situations that I hope to never see again. One constant for me and a huge source of strength has been my faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Wherever I go, I have always been able to find other Christians and this is not only comforting, but provides a connection to others on a higher level. I find a peace in church that I can find nowhere else, even when the church meetings are in combat areas. Church has always taught me the importance of family and I completely believe that being a Mormon has kept mine together through hard times when I have been away. I know who I am, that I have a Savior and Heavenly Father that love me, and that my family will always be together.

How I live my faith

Most of the time that I have been in the church I have served in different positions within the Young Men's organization. This has allowed me to work in just about every Boy Scout position and group there is and lets me continue to play outdoors. Besides the youth programs, one of my favorite things in church is being able to go Home Teaching. I have a few people around my area that I go and see each month in their homes and the bond of friendship and love we have developed is something I will always treasure.
