Hi I'm Jan

I'm a wife, a stay at home mom of 2 adorably busy little boys, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mom of two young boys, they mean the world to me. My boys keep me very busy, but I also enjoy cooking, reading, shopping, being outside, movies, gardening, traveling, photography, and spending time with our family and friends. We have lived in Colorado for 5 years now and love it here. Before we moved here we lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Missouri.

Why I am a Mormon

From the time I was a little girl I went to the LDS church with my family. My understanding grew over the years as my parents and church leaders taught me about the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a freshman in high school I remember ways that my faith was tested. I found that I was only truly happy when I was doing things that were in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I kept closest to friends that were uplifting and encouraged me to do good. The summer before my senior year is when my understanding and testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ became the strongest. It was during a youth conference, Especially For Youth, that I knew for myself that this is Christ's Church on earth today. As I read my scriptures and prayed to my Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ I felt their love for me and felt close to them. I began to really see their love for me in everything around me. God has a plan for me, it began before I came to Earth. The Old and New Testament testify of Jesus Christ as well as the Book of Mormon. God loves us and does not leave us alone. He has restored His church on earth again, given us a living prophet today just as in olden days to guide us, the scriptures to learn His teachings, and a Savior so I can live with my Heavenly Father again. I feel comfort and peace in knowing God has a plan for me. I know this is Christ's church because I feel it in my heart. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith best is by the service I give and being kind to others. Jesus Christ never stopped serving and loving those around him. I have been able to give service in our community by; donating blankets, food, clothing, humanitarian items, and other various items. I love serving in the church. I have taught young women (12yr-18yr) for several years. For the last two years I have planned activities for the women in my ward 18yrs and up. Most recently I have been asked to help with the youth program for 11yrs and younger. The ward has become my family away from family. It's the best!
