Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 22 years to my high school sweetheart. We have four children. The oldest is 19 and a boy. He is currently attending community college and preparing to get out on his mission. My second is 18 and a girl. She is attending University, this is her first year at college. My third is 12 and she is a girl. She just started Jr. High and is loving it! My fourth and youngest is 9 and a boy. He just started 4th grade. He has never loved school but has an excellent teacher this year and i am already seeing changes in his attitude toward school. My oldest son played Volleyball all through high school, both club and for the school team. My oldest daughter played soccer and sings beautifully. My youngest two both play soccer. My 12 year old loves to bake and help in the kitchen. She is an awesome babysitter. My youngest loves to play. Especially to jump on the trampoline! He also loves games. As a family we like to play games and watch movies. We do a lot of laughing and being silly too! I love to repurpose things. I enjoy finding a new use for something. I like to read, write, and enjoy girls nights out!

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted into an lds family when i was just a baby. I have been a mormon my whole life, but everyone needs to be converted. When i was in Jr. High I had a true spiritual awakening in my life. I felt very close to my Heavenly Father through the seminary program. I enjoyed studying and increasing prayer in my life. I was alone quite a bit in Jr. High but I never felt lonely. I knew I was not alone. My life has continued to have many ups and downs. Times when things are very good and smooth seem to be brief and times of struggles seem to lay out before my like vast valleys. But I find when I continue to read, study, and pray that it doesn't matter. I love to serve. I enjoy focusing on someone else instead of myself. Its amazing how much more manageable my trials seeem when I compare them to others who are in need. I can do hard things! I can get through difficult times with a good attitude and the comfort of knowing I am not alone. Many times I lean on friendships and church meetings to help me through the tough times. I feel blessed to have a place to belong, where I know I am surrounded like people just like me, trying. I love the gospel peace in my life. It brings me joy and comfort always! For me, its more than just where I go, it is very much who I am.

How I live my faith

I enjoy helping out in the schools. I have volunteered for years at the elementary school where my kids go. I also have had the opportunity to be in our childrens group presidencies, in the youth presidency, and I am currently serving as 2nd counselor in the womens organization. I am over coordinating activities for the sisters in my ward. We are having a year focused on service and are getting ready for a big service day in October. We are making Christmas wreaths to be donated to an organization that helps homeless families get on their feet, we are making quilts, filling stockings, and donating necessary items to hospitals. In the past we have helped at Marathons, fed the homeless, made hygiene kits for areas hit by natural disasters. It truly is a joy to fill needs and feel useful.
