Hi I'm Alison.

I am a wife, a mother, and a teacher. I love swimming, yoga, and dark chocolate. I am a big nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to our two amazing daughters! I am constantly learning from their examples, and we have so much fun together! I am passionate about teaching and education. I am a big nerd because I love to learn about biology. The truth is, I love to learn about almost anything, but I especially get excited about living organisms and how they work. I love to be in the water swimming or on my mat pushing myself in a yoga pose. I love to cook and bake, and I'm always on the search for new, delicious recipes. One of my daughters has epilepsy, and it has been a real growing experience for all of us. I am amazed at how brave she is in facing her challenges. More than anything, I have seen how Heavenly Father watches over her and blesses her, as He does for all of us. Her seizures have come with a lot of unknowns, and as a mother, that has been my greatest challenge to overcome. I know that no matter what happens to her, or to any of us, that we will be together forever! Knowing that brings me great peace and even greater happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of this church, but I have gained my own testimony of the Gospel. I have seen how Heavenly Father has guided and directed my life in so many ways. He has blessed me with certain people in my life, right when I needed them, and I am so thankful to Him for that. I know that He knows me, as He knows each of His children. I know that He loves me and wants what's best for me, even if it's hard. I know that I can go to Him in prayer with anything that I am struggling with, and that He will hear me and answer my prayer. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He lives! I know that He knows and understands all that I go through and that He can help me through anything. I have felt His love in my life. I know that the Holy Ghost guides and directs me with the feelings, thoughts, and impressions that He sends to my mind and to my heart. I am so thankful to know all these things and for how they bless my life and strengthen me each day!

How I live my faith

I start and end each day with prayer, as well as many in between. Some are with my family or my husband, some are for a meal, and some are just said in my heart in a moment of need. I read my scriptures, articles in our church magazines, or lessons from our Sunday classes every day. They are the best reminders of who I am and who I want to be. In our busy life, they anchor me to the most important truths. Our family sets aside Sunday as a day that is different from the others. We do everything together that day. We go to church, play games, watch home movies, make dinner and yummy desserts, and have tickle fights. It's my favorite day of the week.
