Hi I'm Garret

I'm a drummer, a music fanatic, I'm a gear head, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and I'm working while in school to pay for my education. I enjoy computers and I'm somewhat of a tech geek. I also enjoy playing the drums. I have played in several different bands and I love to express myself through music. I feel that a lot can be communicated through music. I love the outdoors, when it's nice outside. I think spending time with people doing simple things outdoors is one of the best ways to really appreciate that person without the distractions of modern life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life, when I was young I was always curious about what happens after I die. I can remember sitting on my bed and contemplating what if senarios: what if there's nothing after life? what if there is a God, what would He want me to do? etc. My answers came gradually, but every time I would think about it I could feel in the back of my mind I knew that there was a God and I would always feel the comfort of his spirit as explained in the Bible in Galations 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." I can honestly say that even though I don't know everything there is to know about the gospel of Jesus Christ, I know that God answered my prayers and that this is His church and I live everyday by faith. I move forward knowing that this is the path He has set and that the way I tread is pleasing to Him. By the grace of Jesus Christ I know that I can overcome any obstacle and return to live in God's prescence someday.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a daily task. Being a decibel of Christ isn't just a Sunday thing. I try and think about what He would do, or what He would think if He were standing nearby and saw my conduct. Nevertheless I'm not perfect and I talk to the Lord in prayer every night to change my life in accordance to His will. I think that have the title "Latter-Day Saint" may confuse others not of my faith. Saint does not mean one who is dead, sainted, perfect, or one you should pray to; rather it means that this person is a sinner and is trying to do something about it. We all sin, but through Christ we can be cleansed. I feel it every time I take the Sacrament (communion) of the Lord.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is a Holy collection of writings that God has revealed to prophets since the world began. Although it does not contain every revelation given to every prophet it contains the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the principles of knowledge needed to live according to His will. The Bile is divinely inspired and is true. Show more Show less
