Hi I'm Melanie

I am Happy. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of two young children. I am blessed to be married to my best friend. Most of my time is spent with my children: a spunky kindergarten age girl and a busy preschooler boy. My extra time is spent helping my husband in his business and serving in my church. I really love my family and they bring me a lot of happiness. I graduated with a degree in nutrition and I am a registered dietitian. I keep my license but I decided to stay at home with my young kids. I play soccer. I also enjoy running, reading, and photography.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In fact, I come from a long line of LDS ancestors. I went to church every Sunday growing up, but I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the LDS church as a teenager. In my mind, it all made a lot of sense. I agreed with the values that the church teaches and I could see how it could make my life better if I followed those teachings. After reading the Book of Mormon, I tested it myself. I prayed and asked if it was true. I knew it was true and I was following the right path. I know so much of my life is what it is because of that testimony. I feel so blessed to have figured out the truth when I was so young. Many of my decisions have been based on my beliefs and I know my life is a happy one because of those decisions. I married my husband because he had the same beliefs, and we raise our children together sharing with them our testimony of Jesus Christ and the truths we know.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every single day. My husband and I read stories from the Book of Mormon and the Bible to my children every night. We pray with them. We also try to spend one night each week as a family night. It feels good to see my children learn about Jesus. I also enjoy working in the church. I have the amazing opportunity to work with the young women. I teach them on Sundays and I spend a night each week working with them in meaningful activities that hopefully bring them closer to our Savior. I also am blessed by other women in the church that visit me monthly and I make visits to others each month. I really feel like that as a church we look out for each other. I know that is the way our Heavenly Father would want me to feel.
