Hi I'm Brent

I love music and sports. I sing and play the guitar. I'm a college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently am studying to be a mechanical engineer with a concentration in energy and environment and work at an electrical engineering firm. Since sometimes school and work can be tough, I try to make time for hobbies such as sports and music. I enjoy mountain biking, tennis, and volleyball. I also play the guitar, DJ, and love to sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I always went to church with my parents since I was a little kid. My true conversion though came with time as I continued to go to church, studied the scriptures, and prayed. In this way I have come to know that this church isn't simply another Christian church among the thousands, but that this church contains the fullness of the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is the same church that Christ organized when he walked the Earth 2000 years ago. I know that the resurrected Christ likewise leads his church in these days. I'm a Mormon because I have come to know that the teachings in this church are true.

How I live my faith

At church I teach a class about the basic doctrines of the church. For example I study and teach about faith, repentance, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, baptism and about many other topics. I enjoy attending other activities done by church such as dances and sports nights. I love to read from the Bible and Book of Mormon daily and to apply the principles found there in my life. At my university I also attend the church institute, where I am taught by knowledgeable teachers the important church doctrines.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

The first and most important thing we can know concerning the nature of God is that He is our Father in Heaven. He loves you, me, and all of his children. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and at the same time caring and merciful. We know from the Bible that He has a body, similar to ours, but perfected. He is the architect of this world and the universe. Unfortunately some people try to shut Him out their lives, but God want's to be a part of our lives and support us. We must do our part in searching Him out and communicating with Him through prayer for His influence to come fully in our lives. God works through His Son, Jesus Christ, to fulfill His plan for us to return to live with Him in the life after death. Show more Show less
