Hi I'm Erin

I was born and raised in AZ. Although life is busy with my husband and 4 children, I find peace in living the gospel of Christ.

About Me

Some of my favorite things are my family, AZ sunshine, chocolate-chip cookies with milk, surprises, watching old movies, time with friends, the smell of rain, shopping, reading, church, carmel apples, sleeping in, late breakfasts, packages in the mail, Christmas, Mexican, Italian, and Thai food, decorating, music, vacations, desserts, more shopping, and family. I was born and raised in Arizona to a loving Mormon family. I have 1 older brother and 2 little sisters. My husband and I were friends in high school but it wasn't until he came home from his mission to Brazil and we both attended BYU that we began dating. We were married in the Mesa, AZ temple 15 years ago. After we both graduated from BYU (I received my degree in elementary education) we moved to New Jersery where my husband graduated from Rutgers with a law degree. We moved back to Arizona where we are now living with our 4 children, ages 12-4, in the town where we were both raised. Almost 2 years ago, my husband was laid off from his firm because of the economic downturn. It has been a struggle financially as we have tried to make ends meet and he has opened his own practice but we have felt God's help as we've moved forward. There are lots of things that I love to do that bring me happiness. Most of all I enjoy doing activities with my family like trips (we all love Disneyland), camping (it's a cheap get-away), going to movies, going on dates, going out to eat, and playing games.

Why I am a Mormon

In 2 Nephi chaper 28 verse 30 it reads, "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom;" As I think about why I'm a Mormon and how I gained a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I can say that I have felt it grow line upon line or slow and steady--the way a seed grows into a tree. I can't point to one specific time in my life where I didn't know the gospel was true and then suddenly I did. But I can testify that I have had prayers answered, that I have felt the Holy Ghost affirm to me the divinity of Jesus Christ and His role as our Savior. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and know that it was truly translated by Joseph Smith through the power of God. I have felt my Father in Heaven's love and seen Him guide my life. I have personally seen miracles happen. It didn't happen all at once in one grand experience but the knowledge came gently as I practiced faith in His word. I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true! I also know that anyone with a sincere desire to know can also pray with faith and God will answer their prayers too!

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed teaching children. Even in fourth grade I had already decided that I wanted to teach school when I grew up. In church I have had the wonderful opportunity for the past 10 years to serve and teach the primary children ages 4-11 and the young women ages 12-18. Now I am serving in a calling where I train the adult leaders who are teaching the primary age kids. I also get to plan and help with big activities for the girls and cub scouts and scouts for the boys. Another thing I love about church is my responsibility to watch over and visit 3 women regularly. Together with one of my friends we visit each woman individually in her home. We get to know each other, develop friendships, and share our lives. We talk about life, the gospel, and strengthen our testimonies of our Savior. I pray for these dear friends and ask for guidance in ways that I can serve them. They have been a blessing in my life. I strive to live my faith every day--not just on Sundays. I try my best to live as Jesus has asked us to live and I know that as I follow his commandments I am blessed to feel His Spirit guide me and my family. I feel peace as I live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
