Hi I'm Brent

I am an instructor at a local university while I am working on my Phd in math. I'm a father, husband, and a mormon.

About Me

I am a student in Colorado were I live with my son and wife. Once I finish school I plan on teaching. My family is the most important thing in my life. I enjoy spending time with them, do things such as camping, watching movies, or traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been part of the mormon church for generations. So I was blessed from a young age to learn about Jesus Christ and his teachings. As a young adolescent I went through some personal trials that caused me to evaluate beliefs that I had always taken for granted. I spent a good deal of time thinking about the things I had been taught and talking to friends of other faiths. I had a believe in God and decided that He guide me. During this time I was reading from the Book of Mormon when I had a feeling come over me that I knew was from God through his Holy Spirit. He was telling me the Book of Mormon contained the gospel of Jesus Christ. From that point on I have had many opportunities to feel the Holy Spirit telling me of the truthfulness of the principles and doctrine of the Mormon Church.

How I live my faith

One of the blessing of being a Mormon is we have many opportunities to serve others. Since we don't have a paid clergy each member of the church is given the chance to serve in the Church. I have been able to be a missionary, teach sunday school classes to children and adults, and visit other members of the church in there homes. In addition to serving I try to live my life according to the doctrine of Christ. As part of this effort my family and I try to only watch movies, TV, or listen to music that is uplifting and wholesome. I avoid partaking of any addicting substances. Perhaps the most important way I strive to live according to the doctrine of Christ is by treating other the way that I believe Christ would treat them.
