Hi I'm Jaron

I love to have fun. I love to eat ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My Honeybaby loves me and 3 little girls call me "daddy" - it doesn't get any better than that! I absorb hobbies... I ride the sand dunes each winter, and SCUBA dive Mexico in the summer. I love biking - both mountain biking and road cycling. Mountain biking is more fun, so it's for the weekends. But cycling is daily and a fun way to stay in shape. I crave adrenaline and like to find it riding motorcycles, quads, and occasionally skydiving. I really enjoy working with the Venturing Scouts and Boy Scouts. We camp, backpack, wake board, shoot shotguns and rifles, hunt, SCUBA dive, fly real airplanes, play sports, build testimonies, and prepare to serve missions. I am thrilled to do all these fun things, and still call it service!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by choice. Being a Mormon and doing things Mormons do makes me happy. Mormons follow a living Prophet, a messenger of Heavenly Father. My Heavenly Father knows me personally, loves me, cares for me, and wants me to be happy! Listening to and obeying the words of my Heavenly Father, taught through His prophet, brings me that happiness. When I was a teenager, I read the Book of Mormon during summer break and knew it was true. I felt as I read its pages that the names I read about were real people who really lived and testified of Jesus Christ; the stories really happened. I follow the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ, because I know they are true. I prayed to Heavenly Father and asked Him if He and His Son, Jesus Christ, really visited Joseph Smith in person and called him as a Prophet to restore Christ's church once more. As I shared the details of Joseph Smith's story with another person, my prayer was answered and I was filled with God's love and confidence it was true. I have prayed and received confirmation that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormons) is led today by a true and living Prophet. Following the example of Jesus Christ and obeying my Heavenly Father makes me happy! I want that happiness. I want the truth and I want to do what is right. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best me I can be. I try to be an example to the youth. I spend a lot of time with the young men in our area. They are always watching and I want to show them we can be good, righteous men and still have a lot of fun. We teach one another about making good choices, serving others, and being strong against temptations and choices that distract us from who we can become. My wife and I spend time with our daughters - kids are fun! We teach them in our home and want them to know how to feel and recognize the Spirit. Because we want to help them make good choices, we pray together as a family each night, read from the scriptures, and talk about how lessons from the scriptures can help them with their problems today.
