Hi I'm Travis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 12 years, and am a dad to 4 kids; 3 boys and 1 girl. I enjoy playing golf, tennis, basketball, softball, flag football...and still participate in adult leagues for most of them. I went to BYU and UNLV for college, and now work in the financial services arena with New York Life as a hiring partner.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church, but my conversion really took place while I was in college. I had a strong desire to know if the church was true because I was debating on whether or not to serve a mission. I remember very clearly one morning reading The Book of Mormon, and an overwhelming feeling of peace and warmth came over me, reassuring me that what I was reading was true. I have since had a handful of other experiences that have strengthened my testimony and built my desire to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have spent most of the last 7 years working with the young men in our ward, with sports, scouting, and other activities. I have 3 different families I check in on a monthly basis to make sure they are doing okay, to see if there is anything they are in need of, and to make sure they are aware of the love that the ward family has for them.

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Our church was organized organized by Joseph Smith in 1830, and now has close to 14 million members. The nickname "Mormon" comes from The Book of Mormon, a book of ancient scriptures that relates what was going on in the Americas during the same time the Bible speaks of what was going on in the Old World.
