Hi I'm Ryan

I am a fan of the University of Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My path has taken me through Washington, Oregon, Florida, Puerto Rico and Arizona. I am a husband and father of two, a 11 year old boy and 4 year old girl. We really love travel to new places as well as visit family and classic vacation destinations. We love everything Florida Gator! We love to take in Florida football games as well as watch football on TV. Personal hobbies include date night with my wife, mountain biking, basketball and the gym. We enjoy our church responsibilities that allow us to help out our local neighbors, even if it is small ways.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As I tried follow the examples of my parents, as well as those around me, I eventually was able to stand on my own and question the beliefs of those around me. I was taught about the influence of the Holy Ghost, which is a common Christian principle, and that it can guide us through life. I recognized it's influence as I read the scriptures, attended church and when I treated others with kindness. I also recognized the influence of the Holy Ghost in all of my life activities- soccer, social life, academics, etc. I found a peace in reading the scriptures that engulfed my whole life. It has an influence helps one expand talents as well as find new ones. I now know that Prophets currently are on earth today to guide us just as they did in ancient times. I am able to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ more fully because His Church has been restored here on earth. No matter the state of our society as a whole, I am certain that the future is filled with hope because I strive to prepare my family for Jesus to come again. What that means for me on a daily basis is that it gives my family a foundation in which they feel secure. They have structure no matter where they go on this planet. We try to balance church life with academics, as well as family time. I know that the authority of God to act for him to serve others has been restored to the earth. I have witnessed this authority and power. It is not glamorous or flashy. It is exercised without expectation of reward. It allows families to be sealed together for this earthly adventure, as well as that beyond this life.

How I live my faith

Serving in the fully restored Church of Jesus Christ allows us contribute in ways I would have never thought possible. I believe we all have the need and want to help and serve others. I find more joy in serving that I would ever had imagined. I have no doubt our Father in Heaven has set up a structure here on earth for us to reach our potential in every aspect of our lives. Does it challenge me sometimes? Yes. Is it worth it? Oh yeah.
