Hi I'm Kelsey.

I grew up in Washington and love the rain. I am a kindergarten teacher. I love creative writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from college, I started teaching kindergarten. This will be my second year teaching. I have loved creative writing ever since the second grade, and hope to publish some fantasy novels for middle grade and young adult readers. I have been blessed with loving parents and a brother and sister-in-law who continue to love and support me as I pursue my goals and dreams. My ancestors were from Ireland, and I've grown up with an affinity for Irish music. I served a mission for the Church in Lisbon, Portugal and learned to love both the Portuguese language and, more importantly, the people of Portugal and the Azores.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before they met and were married. I grew up in a loving home where my younger brother and I were taught to love God and His Son Jesus Christ. I studied both the Book of Mormon and the Bible growing up, and my parents encouraged me to always serve others and put the Lord first in my life. When I turned fourteen, I decided that I wanted to know for myself if what my parents had taught me to believe was true. As I continued to study the scriptures and prayed to know whether or not the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was Christ's restored church on the earth, I felt peace and a reassurance from the Spirit that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's restored church on the earth today, and that it is His will that I continue to follow and share the doctrines and teachings of the Church with those I meet. I have continued to be blessed with peace and insights as I study and live the gospel of Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day of my life as I do my best to learn and follow Heavenly Father's will for me. I start out each day with a prayer and then study of the Book of Mormon. I've learned that putting my study of the Book of Mormon first helps me to have more strength and optimism with which to face the day. I am a visiting teacher and try to make my calling more than just something
