Hi I'm Bob

I grew up in Idaho, I make cabinets, my name is Bob Grover and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a relatively small LDS community. I married a wonderful girl I met at college. We moved to the northwest and I found a job as a maintenance carpenter with a large aerospace company, that was 42 years ago. We had five healthy children four boys and finally a daughter. Today we have twenty four grandchildren and one on the way. I currently have my own business making custom cabinets which I love. My motto is" Quality sawdust where ever I go". I served nearly seven years as a Mormon bishop. I am now retired and serving a full time senior mission in Cyprus.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a predominately latter day saint community I was a Mormon and so was almost everyone else. At nineteen I was called to serve a mission for the church in North Carolina and Virginia. That was a most educational time in my life. I knew I firmly believed in my faith but in my naiveté' I hadn't realized other people firmly believed in their faith as well. I came to develop a love for all people of all faiths. To know that God loves all of His children. One of the most valuable lessons was to feel and know of the influence of The Holy Ghost in the lives of God's children. One of His prime objectives is to bear witness of truth. Since there is some truth in most all religions, everyone can feel His influence at some time. I know that God lives, that He loves His children and wants them to be happy. When we have the influence of the Holy Ghost in our lives as a friend once told me, " The grass is greener the sky is bluer, your clothes are cleaner and your wife is prettier". I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God that the Book of Mormon is true as is the Bible. I know that the long established pattern of God to reveal His will to his prophets has been again instituted upon the earth. I know that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God that there is no other name in heaven whereby man can be saved.

How I live my faith

My faith is a way of life not a casual membership in an organization. It is who I am. It makes me a man of integrity someone you can count on. Someone that does what he says he will do. We have in the LDS church what is called a lay ministry. I served in the capacity of a bishop (pastor) without compensation, when I was released from this responsibility another was called to take my place. This was done without announcements or fanfare. I now have the calling as a full time missionary with my sweet wifel. Everyone you see on the streets, in their homes or in prison is a loved son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. I work to have love in my heart for everyone I meet that they may know of the love that their Savior has for them. These are my feelings concerning this religion that is an integral part of my life.
