Hi I'm Charles

I was raised in Colorado. My father was Catholic and my Mother was a Mormon. As I grew up I also made a choice to be a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 25 years and we have 5 children. Three girls then two boys - they are the light of our lives. I went to college after high school and became a Pharmacist. After we had our girls I went back to school and obtained my Doctorate in Pharmacy. I currently manage a Pharmacy operation for Walgreens. In 2003 I earned my pilot license and in 2006 we started to build our own plane. We finished the plane in 2010 and now when opportunity allows we love to visit communities. We will pick a community then go and explore, meet the people and visit its historical sites. We have established a number of family traditions. We try to always have Sunday dinner together - the whole family. At Christmas time we have a daily advent calendar so that each day reminds us of our family and the Savior. Monday night is family night. We play games, have family counsel, sing songs, and study together.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up my mother would always attend church. My father worked long hard hours during the week so weekends were his time to relax, camp and fish. As a boy and young man you are left with examples from people who are good and love you yet approach religion very differently. You could say that I always believed in God but I wanted to know what religion was true. So I studied attended church and asked questions. That process brought me understanding and as I prayed a comfort came to my mind and heart. It was that spiritual comfort, conversion is what we call it. That conversion is why I am a Mormon. After High School I attended a semester of college then accepted a call to become a Mormon Missionary. I was called to service in Canada and spent two years sharing the gospel and good news that Jesus is the Christ. Never had I realized how much peoples lives would change for the good until they accepted Jesus Christ. The happiness, joy and strength that individuals and families received have shown me that it is only through the values and Christian principles that true happiness is found. Fortune and Fame do not bring happiness, it is found in home, friends and family.

How I live my faith

When my wife and I were first married we had decisions to make. One of the first we made was to attend church every week. Latter as vacation and travel have occured we still attend chruch where ever we are at. We have attended church services in Mexico, the Carribean and through out the United States. Meeting good people in each and all of these communities. As you grow and are active in the Mormon church you are called (asked) to help. Since we have been active and attend chruch weekly we have had the opportunity to participate in many aspects of the Mormon religion. I have taught Sunday School classes, Served in the Young Men's organiztion, Have been the Scoutmaster in our local Boy Scout Troop, Held offices in the Priesthood. One of the most challenging and spiritual was the time I served as a Bishop. A Bishop is like a minister only in the Mormon church Bishops are not paid. They still hold there own job and service as the Bishop to a congregation at the same time. Individuals and families as they faced problems would come and together we would seek the counsel and guidance from Jesus Christ. We would study and pray together, then using the priciples taught in the scriptures we would work together so there actions at home and in public became those taught by the savior. This process would allow the spirit of the Gospel to enter their lives and give them the strength to change. Joy and happiness always followed.
