Hi I'm Cory

I'm a physician, pathologist. I got my education serving in the US Air Force. I'm a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel like I'm a older guy these day. When I went to medical school AIDS was not yet understood. Things in my field of medicine have changed so much. The world my kids are growing up in is so different. Things like the Internet were just a dream. My cell phone is a modern wonder.

Why I am a Mormon

In spite of all the changes and challenges in life my faith gives me the anchor I need in life. My belief in a life after death gives purpose to my goals and aspirations. It makes me glad I'm married and have kids. It's made a real difference in how my children grow up. They face so made hard things in life I just didn't. It's a rock in my life.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy the friendship of going to church on Sunday and seeing people who also have faith in God and His Son, Jesus. I feel encouraged when I hear them tell of their challenges and hard times with an attitude that God loves them and helps them. The road may not be easy. For some of my friends it seems very hard. But we find a strength in our common faith. We often speak of feeling His Spirit touching our hearts or speaking to our minds. These feelings may be of peace or an insight into dealing with our problems in a new way to help us. At home we have a weekly evening for our family to talk about life, faith, the scriptures, and play a game. We try to guide our children and listen to them. We sing songs together. We always have a treat. I meet with and help with a scout group of 14 and 15 year old boy. It helps me keep young. It helps me know a little more about what my daughter sees at school.
