Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California and Oregon. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 23 years old

About Me

I am married. My wife and I have three children and five grandchildren. I work as an HVAC mechanic and have done so for the last 15 years. I enjoy playing golf, visiting grandchildren, and vacationing on cruise ships.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a child my parents would drop my brother, sister, and I off at the nearest church to our home. My parents felt that having religion in our life was important. Because of my parents differing religions they did not attend any church with their family. Without their example in my early teens I quit going to the "church de jour". While attending the many churches through my early years I did come to believe the existence of God and our Savior Jesus Christ. After being married four years I was introduced to the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When they taught the restored gospel to our family I felt the Holy Ghost burn within me confirming the truthfulness of their message. I entered the waters of baptism shortly thereafter and joined the Church. I know that the church organized by Jesus Christ is again on the earth. It is led by a prophet today, as it was in Christ's ancient church. I know that as we keep the commandments of Christ we will receive all of the blessing that Christ has promised to His people. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith from an ancient record made by the hand of prophet of God. I know and feel of the love God has for each of His children and pray that you may have that feeling in your life also.

How I live my faith

I try daily to keep all of the commandments of our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I try to live my life using Christ's life as an example for me. I serve members of our congregation by giving direction and guidance to them. I teach them the importance of living the gospel and keeping the Lord's commandments. I an actively engaged in working with the children and teenagers as well as the adults of our congregation. I feel that through my experiences that I can teach those who have not yet experienced all that life has in store for them. It is my prayer that I can be an example for them and can bring them to the joy that is present when we follow our Savior.
