Hi I'm Dan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of four beautiful children. During the week day I work as a civil engineer. In the evenings and on weekends I work at home alongside my wife raising our children. We enjoy our time together as a family and with our extended family. When time allows I like to golf (although I'm not very good). As a family we like to explore our country, visiting its National Parks.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a seventh generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am honored to have ancestors who joined the church in its early days from Denmark and England and who crossed the plains to be with the saints of the church. They have left a legacy for me as an example of what it means to be committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Being a member has therefore always been a natural and easy thing, but a conviction that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he has restored his church again on the earth today has come through sincere study and prayer. I am a Mormon today because I have felt the Holy Ghost witness it to me time and time again.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints allows its members to hold callings in the church. These callings are responsibilities in its programs and leadership to serve others. Holding callings has given me opportunities to grow in my faith. I currently serve in the priesthood leadership, helping others fulfill their priesthood responsibilities and planning activities to build a sense of brotherhood among our members. I am also given opportunities in my calling to teach others in our group. Preparing these lessons helps me learn more about the gospel and strengthens me. I live my faith by teaching my children the gospel, attending church services, and serving others.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Dan
If you don't know a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, then I would recommend attending a church service. Chapels are located throughout the world and to find the one closest to you click this link: http://lds.org/maps/index.jsf?lang=eng#x=find&m=microsoft&lat=0&lng=0&z=2&t=1&places=meetinghouses If you enter your address, the site will bring up the church meeting place and time. Visitors have always been welcome to attend our meetings. Most members dress in their Sunday best, but you are welcome to wear what would make you comfortable. If you introduce yourself as a visitor, then I bet someone would be more than happy to sit with you and help you have a positive experience. These first steps will guide you to someone that you can talk to in person about the Mormon religion. Although you can always find out about our religion by talking to someone over the phone or in person anywhere, but there is a special feeling in our church services that will not only speak to your mind, but also to your heart. Thank you for your interest and I hope to see you at church! Show more Show less
