Hi I'm Jason

I grew up in California and joined the military. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad and serve my country in the US Air Force. I love watching, editing movies and playing video games in my spare time. I have deployed multiple times in the service of my country and enjoy the freedoms that God has given our country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was challenged when I was a youth to find out for myself if Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I studied the Book of Mormon carefully and already knew a lot of the teachings from growing up in the church. But I found more meaning when I was trying to find out for myself if it was true. I remember doing my prayer and asking if the things that I were reading were true. I remember feeling so joyful and peaceful, it was something that I hadn't really ever felt. It was such a confidence and surety that I KNEW it was true. I then asked if Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. Again I felt the same confirmation as before. Even though I had started to build my testimony through those feelings, I knew that I had to keep learning and doing more to follow God's commandments, which wasn't always easy. But through the prayers that I have done in those tough times, I'm reminded of that first time when I knew that my Father in Heaven was indeed interested in me and was pleased that I looked for His truth. Today looking back on a lot of my youth I can definitely see how my choices to stay active in His true church have led to where I am today. And I'm really happy with my family and know of a surety that I can be with them for eternity through God's plan. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and was chosen to restore the full Gospel of Jesus Christ as it was in ancient times. Because of this I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was translated by His prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, is His prophet here on earth today. I know that the guidance the Twelve apostles and His prophet gives us today are meant to guide us in this time. But all of this started because I was willing to find out for myself and ask God if these messages were true.

How I live my faith

I serve as the leader in my ward for my age group of men. I'm humbled at the great responsibility of helping those under me get to the temple and be sealed together as families and receive the priesthood of God. I enjoy the service that I get to give knowing that I can help others. I also get to apply a lot of those same teachings in my job today. As a leader in the Air Force I get to guide those that are junior to me in making good choices. A lot of times growing up isn't so easy and I'm glad that I get the chance to show them my perspective of what I learned and grew up with.

Why is family so important to Mormons?
