Hi I'm Becky

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 amazing kids. I have a wonderful husband, I love to make crafts & decorate cakes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with my 3 amazing kids. I love watching them grow and learn - every day brings something new! I have a wonderful husband who supports me in everything I do. He is not a member of the church but he comes to church with us every single week. He is amazing. I love to decorate cakes for friends and family and I also love to do crafts - any and all crafts. I love to learn new things. I LOVE to travel! There's a whole world out there for us to explore - my husband and I were blessed this summer to be able to spend 3 weeks together in Europe, which was a life long dream come true!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I went through a rebellious stage starting in my teenage years and into my early twenties. I fell away from the church and did all sorts of things that I shouldn't have been doing. When I got married, my husband and I checked out a few other churches but none of them felt very welcoming or satisfying. When 9/11 happened, it was a much needed wake up call that made me realize that there was something very important missing in my life and right away I knew that I wanted to return to church. I found my ward and my husband and I started going every week. I have never been happier. This church brings such peace and joy into my life. That's not to say that life is easy now - most of the time it's not. But I can't imagine going through life without the knowledge and testimony that I have of our Savior and the Atonement. I have come to know that the Lord's hand is truly in every part of our lives, every single day. Going to church each Sunday lifts me up. There is such a strong support system in this church. Whenever someone is in need - whether they are a member or not, it's amazing to see how quickly everyone steps up to help out. It's great to be a part of a "family" that takes such good care of one another.

How I live my faith

I was recently called to be in the presidency of the women's organization in our ward. This calling has been amazing. I have already had the opportunity to learn and grow so much in my knowledge and testimony of the Gospel. I have the opportunity to teach lessons occasionally in church, which is always a great opportunity for me to learn as I prepare my lessons. This has also been a great challenge for me, as I terrified of speaking in front of groups of people. It's amazing what we can do with the Lord's help! I love to be able to help organize activities for the sisters in our ward once a month, so that we can all get together and learn new skills while also building friendships. I try to teach our 3 kids at home as well, through family home evening lessons and activities and through prayer and scripture study. I like to start my day by getting up early, before my kids, to study the scriptures. I have found that my days truly do go better when I start my day this way. I also love to go to the temple. Although I admit that I don't get to the temple as often as I should, I love to feel the spirit, the great feeling of peace and happiness that I feel every time I go. Every time I go, I learn something new. And whenever I leave, I feel as though I can do anything and it furthers my understanding that with the Lord's help, we really can do anything.
