Hi I'm Morgan

I love science, sports, cars, and being with the people I love. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like cars, I don't know a ton about them but I'm interested in racing them some, on a track of course. I'm majoring in exercise physiology and hoping to go into physical therapy. I love music, and try to play the piano. I used to run hurdles and sprints in track, and loved it. I like spending time with my friends doing different things, exploring caves, playing different games, watching movies, and climbing at the local rock wall. I love to build, create or paint all sorts of things. I currently work as a teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology labs and love helping students to learn about the wonderful creation of our body that God has built for us. I also get to work as a physical therapy technician and its great to see people getting better and healing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of Mormons, my Grandfathers generations back crossed the plains with the pioneers and settled the area that we still live in today. I've always gone to church but I wasn't always sure it was true, I kind of doubted right after high school, but I never stopped reading my scriptures or praying or going to church. If I ever thought about not going to church anymore I found that I couldn't do it because I knew it was true, and I've found its what really makes me happy in life, living worthy to use the priesthood and go to the temple. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth that it really is lead by Christ and he speaks through his prophet today, and that the Book of Mormon is a true book and it is full of wonderful stories and testimonies designed to bring us closer to our Savior. I know Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he was a true prophet.

How I live my faith

I help out with different service projects for some of the members of my church who aren't able to keep up with everything themselves either because they are widowed or divorced or whatever the case may be, and help out with the youth some. Now I live my faith because I know its true and I love it. I get to help with collecting tithes and fast offerings in my ward of university students, and it is humbling to see the faith of so many with so little who give so much. I also am grateful for opportunities that I have to help out friends or anyone around that I can.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Morgan
We aren't "required" to serve a mission. Its an expression of our Love for the Savior and for our brothers and sisters all over the world. Nothing negative happens if someone decides not to serve, but the things that missionaries gain as they serve are priceless, and to be able to help others have the same joy we do means so much. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Morgan
The atonement of Jesus Christ is his sacrifice for us. Christ died for us and broke the bands of death so that we could live again, but more than just raising us from the dead in the resurrection Christ died so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Repeatedly Christ told the people around him that they were forgiven of their sins, and he instructed them to keep his commandments and to sin no more. Christ's purpose is to raise us up to his level so that we can have all that he wants for us. Because he loves us perfectly he wants us to have everything he has. He knows we have to be able to judge wisely if we are to have the things he has though and so he has given us commandments to be able to learn to be like him, and his death and resurrection made it possible for us to be forgiven when we fall short of those commandments so that we can keep trying to do what is right.
