Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in Moab, Utah. Living in the outdoors is my passion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children and I love my family. I worked for a river expedition company in Moab for two years as a river guide on the Colorado and Green rivers. I have a love for the outdoors and I enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, camping... anything outside in God's creation.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church, and my family is strong in the faith. They helped me grow and gain a knowledge for myself the truth of the Book of Mormon and our religion. But, I had an experience in 2010 that changed my life and my faith. I became very ill and struggled for weeks in a hospital under the care of several doctors and nurses. I came close to death, and so I discovered what really mattered in life. I had a love for my family and for everyone that could not be contained. I truly felt God's love for me, and I want to share that love with everyone. I am very grateful for the gift of life, and I appreciate all of God's creations so much more. I want to live with my family forever, and I know I can if I live righteously and obey God's commandments. I want everyone to feel that joy. Life is a gift. Live every day to the fullest and find happiness in everything.

How I live my faith

I served my mission in Sacramento, California. There I learned to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. As a member of Christ's church, I strive to live and share His gospel everywhere I go. I love to share my favorite scripture, which is in Doctrine and Covenants 76:22-24. It is an account from Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon after they had a vision of Jesus Christ. It begins, "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father--That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God. What pure testimony! I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that he atoned for our sins. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father, and He has restored His Church on the earth today. I know that through the Prophet Joseph Smith the Book of Mormon was translated, and it is a true record.
