Hi I'm Blair

I'm a college student, I'm from Nor Cal, I love sports, especially water polo, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old. I was Born in Iowa and I lived there for just about a year. I moved to California and have lived there for just about my entire life. I have my parents, 1 older sister and 2 younger brothers. I play water polo and I used to swim on the swim team. I love going out on our boat to go waterskiing and slalom skiing. I also enjoy skiing on the snow. I enjoy playing almost any sports on land even though some sports I am better at than others, like ultimate frisbee. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was baptized at age 8, but I have been attending the church since I was born. I earned my Eagle Scout Award and was in the scouting program since I was 11. I served a mission in the Nashville, TN area for 2 years. I am currently attending college with a declared major of Exercise Science. I am preparing to go to med school so I can be an anesthesiologist, which means I've still got a long road ahead of me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the scriptures, gone to church, listen to the words of the prophets, followed the commandments, and have had a belief in God and Jesus Christ my entire life. While I was growing up people would always talk about how they knew it was true because they would get these warm feelings from the Holy Ghost and I had never felt it so I was sort of jealous and didnt know what to think or do about it. Now I have a testimony that all the things I have read and have seen are true because I have asked God, through prayer, of the truthfulness of these things, and have recieved an answer in my heart and mind, by the Holy Ghost, confirming that they are true. My testimony is sure and unwavering and I know that this is God's true church on earth.

How I live my faith

I have served in many quorum presidencies and have had the opportunity to teach lessons in those classes. I was most recently called to be a teacher in the primary which was great as I saw the faith grow in all of the children in the church. I have served a mission in the Nashville, TN area for 2 years. Each morning I study my scriptures and pray to help me get in the right spirit for the day. I live my faith by striving to follow Christ's example in everything that I do.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. The Bible is the word of God and came from the writings of holy men of God as they were moved upon by the Holy Ghost (see 2 Peter 1:20-21). Through the same process we have additional Holy Scripture, including the Book of Mormon, which supports and exalts the Bible. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in God’s name. The same priesthood authority that existed in the original Church established by Jesus Christ exists in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today. The Church is directed and led through this authority. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God’s dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fulness of the everlasting gospel. It is a second witness that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (See Moroni 10:3–5). Show more Show less
