Hi I'm Mark

I'm a husband, a father. I grew up in Virginia, Kentucky, Utah and went to high school in Morocco, Africa, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of one wonderful boy. I am a software engineer by trade. I love to read and learn new things, perhaps too much. I've earned three college degrees. I have lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Utah, Arizona, Canada and Morocco. I am fascinated by the diverse cultures of the world and how they shape our view on life. All of the plants, animals and geology of the nature around us attest to me the love our Father in heaven has for us. We have a wonderful world to call home.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16 years old, I lived with my family on the western edge of the Sahara desert. There were few other Mormon families in the country. Perhaps it was the fact I felt closely linked to my faith as a outsider surrounded by a foreign culture, or it could have been meeting for church services in our living room with my family every Sunday, but I was drawn to the Book of Mormon. I read it from cover to cover. At the end of the last chapter, the last prophet to contribute to that book challenged the readers to pray. To pray to our Father in heaven for a confirmation that the book is the word of God. I received an answer to my prayer. Through a quiet confidence, a comforting assurance and a sense of peace, I knew then and know now that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I firmly believe that as a child of our loving Father in heaven we should find ways to serve each other. Looking outside of our daily challenges to see what others face helps us keep our lives in perspective. I have taught several Sunday school classes. I love helping people better understand and how to live the gospel. I currently help organize service projects and activities for the boy scouts in my area.
