Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The best thing in my life is my family (wife and daughter plus one dog). They mean everything to me and bring me the most happiness. My favourite memories are of spending time with them, extended family and friends. Currently I work as a Pre/Post Sales Implementation Engineer for a Software Company which takes me around the UK. This gives me a great opportunity to meet different people and to make new friends and learn from them. I enjoy (in no particular order) eating, geeky things (computers and electronics), driving and playing/watching football. My family and I attend Chesterfield Ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in to the Church and raised a member. Whilst going to University I asked myself - "Is the Church true?". I'd never really considered it before and felt that I needed to know. So I put the promise of Moroni 10:3-5 to the test and studied & prayed to find out whether it was or not. Some time later I felt a deep impression, that it was. From that moment I've tried to live the Gospel and have never looked back.

How I live my faith

My faith is really important to me and I try to live the Gospel on a day by day basis. This means, to me, starting the day right - taking time out to study the scriptures and prayer (on my own and as a family). I love having opportunties to speak to my daughter about why I believe and how Heavenly Father helps me in my life. Home Teaching helps me live the Gospel and I enjoy going with my over 70 year old companion (who is a great example to me) to visit the families that we've been asked to visit. I have an opportunity to serve in the Church with responsibility for the 12-18 year old Young Men. This involves teaching them on a Sunday and doing various activities (football, cooking, hiking, making films, etc) with them on Tuesday evenings. It's great to watch them mature and their faith grow as they receive answers to the questions they have as to whether there is a God, is the Church true, etc.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

He is literally our Father and He wants to have a one to one relationship with us and all His children. We communicate with Him through prayer and He communicates with us through revelation. His desire is that we become like Him and by providing a Saviour (in Jesus Christ) He has made this possible. Show more Show less
