Hi I'm Schuyler

I'm a unicycler, an Eagle Scout, I love backpacking, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I used to work at an airport alongside an A&P mechanic and worked on my Private Pilots license. I love doing things with my hands and I'm planning on going into Mechanical Engineering when I go to college in a few years. I've just graduated form high school and I am currently serving a two year full time mission in Sao Paulo Brazil. I love being outside. I am an Eagle Scout and in the Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow. I lived a few years in Utah (but my citizenship is in Texas!) where there are more National Parks than any other state, and while I was there I got addicted to the great outdoors. I love mountain biking, backpacking, unicycling (both on road and off), hiking, fishing, camping, and just about anything else under the sun, literally. If I could do anything, I'd hike for a living, but sadly that would make it hard to provide for a family. I've climbed Mount Whitney (The tallest peak in the continental U.S. at 14494 feet) and Mt. Langley in the High Sierras, Mount Princeton, Mt. Antero, and Mt. Sherman, (all 14'ers) in the Rockies. I am the second oldest of six children; four sisters and a brother... And I LOVE it! My parents are happily married and my siblings are all best friends. Some people tell me that's impossible, but with enough care, love it all works out.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is God's true church. How I came to find that out is another story. There is a book that I hold nearer and dearer and love more than any earthly possessions of mine. Many people I have talked with know its name but have never ventured behind its cover; this book is The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Its testament of Jesus Christ is beyond any book I have ever read, both in word, in heart, and in fruit. The words are those of Christ and His mortal ministers, known as prophets. The feelings I feel, the happiness, love, peace, and joy that reading that book brings me, can only come from the Holy Ghost. And lastly, the fruit of that book is beyond any fruit known to man. Christ says "By their fruits ye shall know them." The things you have found on this website are all the fruits Christ was talking about.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by sharing it. I had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a few months before my mission, and I am currently serving a full time (full time meaning 24-7, not 40 hours a week) mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; or here in Brazil, A Igreja De Jesus Cristo Dos Santos Dos Ultimos Dias.
