Hi I'm Kaylee

I love sports and food. I'm from a loud and large family of eight and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At the moment I am twenty years old. I am studying Justice and Legal Studies at Uni. I've grown up in Australia and also spent three years living in New Zealand. I love lots of sports! Touch Footy and Basketball are my favourites. I am from a large family: Mum, Dad and five brothers, four of which are younger than me. I am passionate about life. I love to sing and dance! I love food! I eat most things and am willing to try new foods.. My Family are so special to me and my religion helps me to nurture the relationships I have with them. Being young, I make a lot of mistakes but I am learning and growing constantly. I find comfort in knowing that no one is perfect and life will throw me challenges but I am never in it alone. I have my family, a loving Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ to turn to always. The gospel of Jesus Christ plays a significant role in my life; in who I am and who I am becoming.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and that is where I was taught that through our loving Heavenly Father we can receive answers to all the sincere questions we have in our hearts. I am a Mormon because I have received answers to my questions and have come to know, for myself, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth today, set up the same way Jesus Christ organised it when he lived on the earth. I did not come to this conclusion over night... There is a scripture in John 7:17 which explains that if we will do the will of the Father (meaning our Heavenly Father) we shall know of the doctrine, that it is of God. That is how I have gained a real testimony and understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By doing the lords will and living by the principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have come to know of their truthfulness. I put that scripture to the test and see the blessings that come from living by Jesus teachings. On countless occasions my prayers have been answered in a way that confirms to me that Heavenly Father knows me personally. I have felt of the spirit of God which testifies of truth. The Holy Ghost, also known as the spirit or the comforter, is what teaches a person of truth. When we feel joy, peace, love, charity, anything that edifies and uplifts and inspires us to do good and believe in Christ, these are feelings which I have learnt come from the Holy Ghost. Through those feelings and that spirit which speaks to our hearts I have come to know that God lives, that I am His daughter, that I have a Savior Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon, in conjunction with the Bible, is the true word of God for us to read. The Book of Mormon encourages us to believe in Christ and I have a firm and unfailing testimony of that book. Our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and have direction in our lives and through this church I have found it. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by keeping the commandments of God and living by Jesus teachings. I have a duty at church, which we refer to as a calling, where I am responsible for caring for and serving a large group of Young Single Adults or YSA (people aged 18 - 30 yrs). As part of my calling I help organise fun recreational/ spiritual activities and see to the needs of that group. I love my calling. I love the YSA's! I enjoy being part of such an amazing program designed to uplift and strengthen us as young people. I also live my faith by the simple things I do each day which keep me focused on why I am here, such as reading my scriptures, saying my prayers, endeavoring to love those around me and serve others in anyway I can.
