Hi I'm Taylor M. Hall

I'm a kiwi, a musician, a missionary and a mormon!

About Me

I love filmmaking and music. I believe these two passion coincide with one another and help me better live my life as a latter-day saint. I want to go into either of these fields of study as soon as I can. I am the oldest child of 6, and with that, the responsibility of being an example for my siblings. That has helped me understand the importance of doing the right thing because they will look to me as an example. I am currently serving as a full time missionary in the Australia Perth Mission, and it's been the best decision I have ever made. It has brought me an incredible amount of happiness, a kind that I have never before experienced.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church did not give me an opportunity to fully change my life to follow the church. As I have grown up in the church, I have relied on the testimony of my parents, friends and other leaders of the church. But as I reached my teens years, life began to throw obstacles in my way. I was influenced by many people both in the church and outside the church, for good and for bad. In the past few years, I have had to exercise my agency and choose to either remain in this gospel, or to go my own way. I have seen many people choose both paths of which I have also seen the consequences. Through trial, error and faith, I have developed a testimony of my own that has strengthened me to stay in this church. I know that my life without this church would be a shambles. The teachings that I have been taught and once only vaguely understood, I have applied in my life. I have seen the blessings because of this choice. I know that Lord looks down upon me. My life is great, and that is why I am a member of this church. And that's why I chose to come out here to Perth to serve a mission, to give other people that opportunity to develop a relationship with God.

How I live my faith

I was born into the church and have been attending since I can remember. And so I went to church because that was the family norm. Since I have been out here on a mission, I have felt for myself the sweet feeling of the Spirit. I live my faith by taking each day as it comes. I try not to think too far ahead, but focus on doing my best. I'm not perfect at doing that though, but that's why Christ is there. He gives me a hope that if I do my best, I can achieve what He has achieved: perfection. I can draw strength from that.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Taylor M. Hall
First of all, have a desire to know if these things are true. Not just "something else to know" but a true, longing thirst for truth. Then ask Heavenly Father with a sincere heart. Openly ask the thoughts of your mind and heart. Pause and listen. Notice your feelings and thoughts. If your intentions are true, you will have a witness of truth. You will feel happy and comfortable. You may not even be able to describe your joy. This is how I came to know of the truth of this church, and it will work for you too. I promise. What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Taylor M. Hall
As a missionary, we talk to people about their families and about what they are looking for. We share with people special messages that are given to us to bring our families closer together and closer to God. They are all centered on the plan our Heavenly Father has for us and what Jesus Christ did for us. We talk about the personal relevance it can have for us. We do not force or push, but we invite and encourage. Show more Show less
