Hi I'm Greg

I grew up in a military family. I'm a student at EWU, studying to be a History teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going back to school after spending 12 years running a restaurant. I spent to much time away from home in that profession and realized I was missing a lot with my family. I have 4 children whom I've rededicated to spent time with. I love football and basketball & especially GOLF!!!! I love to spent time in the outdoors, especially with my family. Any outdoor recreation is what I like. I am a movie buff, especially history films.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church, because of the many great people that the Lord has brought into my life. Having been raised as a Mormon in a very active family set the groundwork for developing my own testimony of this church and the truths that it teaches. As a youth I was struggling with the perceptions of being a member of this church and knowing what was expected of me from my parents. When I turned 19 a lot of pressure was on me as it was time I did what every good Mormon boy should do and serve a mission. I was struggling with this decision to go or stay and goto college. Thru the urging of a close friend I took the challenge of reading the Book of Mormon and truly asking God if it was his word. I really wanted to know for myself, if what I have been taught all my life was true. I can remember coming home after a date and deciding to ask God about this Book and the Church and all of the things I have been taught. That was around 10pm! My father knocked on the window of my car at around 2am asking why I was crying as I sat there. What I remember most about those 4 hours was the peaceful, sweet feeling that came over me. The spirit spoke to me that evening stronger than I have ever felt before. I knew after that evening that I would serve a mission for the Mormon church because of the truths that were revealed to me that day. I know that Christ lives, he leads his flock today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet in our time, called of God to lead this church, his church. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God brought forth in the last days to add to the witness of the Bible that Jesus is The Christ. These things are true and the Church Of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is the Lord's Church today. I bear this witness in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in my local ward as a priesthood leader. I am responsible for the teaching of many priesthood brothers in my ward. This is a great responsiblity as I strive for the well-being of the memebers in my ward. With this responsibilty I am also directly involved with several families in our ward, thru a program called Hometeaching. I visit them monthly to share a message from our Prophet, and to check on their needs if any. I spent the last 8 years working with the children from 4-9 years old. I was called to be a Primary Teacher. I taught with my wife as we strived to teach the Gospel to these spirited children. I have ejoyed the many callings that I have received in the church as I have been taught and uplifted by many people.
