Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in West Virginia and Virginia. I am the Mother of five boys. I am a student and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in West Virginia and have 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Living on a farm taught me how to work hard and I have had a job of some sort since I was 7 (my first job was doing a paper route). I have worked in many industries such as early childhood education, telecommunications, banking, aviation and healthcare. I moved to Arizona when I was 19, where I met my husband. I am now a busy mom of five very active boys. I recently returned to college pursuing my B.S. in Applied Psychology. I hope to continue studying in a nursing program after I graduate. I love learning new things, music, reading, and going on dates with my husband. I have been a Cub Scout leader for the last 6 years, which was so much fun! But, right now I teach an early morning Seminary class for the freshmen at my oldest son's High School. I like to help out at my boys' school and to work with other groups to improve our community.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts, and while I grew up in the LDS faith, my parents encouraged me to explore the religions of my friends. When I was 13 I began to earnestly study the scriptures. I started in the New Testament and felt that I came to know Jesus Christ in a very personal way. I then moved on to study the Book of Mormon. I felt that the Book of Mormon held all the missing pieces to the puzzle of what was true in the scriptures. In the Bible I learned about obedience, and the meaning of the Atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. But I never felt like I learned how to USE the Atonement until I read the Book of Mormon. Enos is my favorite guy in the Book of Mormon. He shows how the Lord blesses us with the gift of repentance and forgiveness - how we can change our hearts and turn to the Lord. Why am I a Mormon? Because I am happiest when I am living the gospel. I have had times in my life when I made choices that led me away from Christ. I never feel alone or helpless when I have Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I do this through church, school, and the community organizations I participate in. I try to live my life in a way that makes other people wonder why I'm happy all the time and ask me questions about it. Then I can share with them the message of happiness that is the gospel.
