Hi I'm LeeAnn

I go to college, I love non- profit work, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a crazy college student majoring in History and minoring in Journalism. I love to volunteer at non- profit's or donate time or whatever I can to help other's. I love to learn and read as well as I play the organ and the piano! I enjoy meeting new people and jamming out to all sorts of music.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon for a long time was because I was born into it or more likely adopted into it since I was adopted. I grew up doing youth activites in the church and enjoying it. I continued to follow Jesus Christ and His Gospel because there was a time in my life where I wasn't sure what to do and where to turn and this church was the answer. All the sorrow and heartache was erased because I knew I had a loving Savior and great support network here in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. I love this Gospel and I love my Savior and I try to do what I can to follow in the path He has prepared for me. This Gospel has changed my life.

How I live my faith

One of the biggest ways I live my faith is the calling or "job" I have in the church. I am a Gospel Doctrine teacher in my Single's Ward. Meaning, I teach lessons from the scriptures so we can discuss and talk about God's plan and what He meant by the doctrine in the scriptures. Another way I try to live my faith is by trying to live a more Christ like life. I try to befriend the people around me and understand where they are coming from and who they are. I just try to have a genuine love for people around me even if I don't know them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is the most beautiful act of sacrifice in all of history. The Savior being a perfect being in everyway sacrificed His life and more so that we can be forgiven for the sins we have. No one is perfect here in this life which is why we needed a supreme, perfect and loving being to make up for our short comings and give us another chance. The Atonement has changed my life and I am so grateful that Christ suffered for every single one of us on an individual level so that if we repent we can have another chance to live with Him again. Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Oh yes! I love the Bible and the teachings of Christ and of God found in the Bible. It is a powerful record and witness that Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of our Heavenly Father. The Bible came from "holy men of God as they were moved upon by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:20-21). I know some don't understand and assume because of the Book of Mormon that Mormons do not believe in the doctrine of the Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon supports and exalts the Bible. It's "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" and as such re enforces the doctrines and teachings of Christ and God in the Bible, the Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible. Show more Show less
