Hi I'm Chiara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents joined the church in Italy, where I was born. I grew up in South Florida so I love the beach! I would consider myself a beach bum. I love anything warm, tropical, bright and sunny! I love being outdoors. Since I now live in Washington state, I love going on hikes, camping and enjoying the beautiful world around me. I am a college graduate with a degree in history education from BYU. I'm married and we have a beautiful, very energetic one year old girl.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the LDS church but I continue to live my life as a member of the church for a few reasons: 1) It makes sense. The gospel of Jesus Christ, as it has been revealed and restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith brings me so much happiness and peace. I know where I came from before this life and what God expects of me. I know I have a purpose here on earth. I know I can live with my family forever, even after death. 2) It is a part of who I am. The principles I learn in church define who I am, what I do and how I think. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to be a better person. I am far from perfect, but the Savior himself taught that it is the sick who need a physician. 3) It helps me live life to the fullest. With the knowledge that God is my Father in Heaven, that Jesus Christ is His son and my Savior, and that Christ continues to guide and direct His church on the earth today through a living modern-day prophet enables me to find strength to deal with life's challenges and have hope in a time of political, social and moral turmoil.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday and one a week, during a weeknight, I meet with the teenage girls in our ward(which is our congregation) along with other youth leaders for an activity. As a youth group we participate in service, like carwashes to raise money for troops overseas, we participate in activities that help develop skills and knowledge, like taking care of a car, cooking a meal or learning how to make a craft and we learn why it's important to live morally clean and pure. I love working with young people! They are so amazing! Their faith is inspiring to me. We go on camping trips, meet together weekly and strenghten one another spiritually. Besides working with the youth, I have a responsibility to visit 3 women in our ward monthly. I, along with another lady who is assigned to be my companion, visit these women to check up on them, see how they are doing and to pass along a spiritual message. I have a responsibility to help strengthen them spiritually as well as emotionally if I can. These women have become my friends, even though they are in very different stages of life than me.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

What do we believe about Jesus Christ? That He is the Son of God, our Elder Brother and our Savior! We believe that is through belief in Him and through living His teachings ( His Gospel) that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again one day! The only way to God is through Jesus Christ. He took upon Himself our sins, He died for us, and He was resurrected after the 3rd day, which allows us to repent, become better people and one day, if we have lived His Gospel, live forever in the presence of God. I love my Savior and I know, because He has suffered my pains and afflictions, that He has an infinite love for me and can bring me peace and hope. Show more Show less
