Hi I'm Angie

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have always loved the gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I grew up in a split member family meaning my mom and I were members but my dad was not. I was an only child til I was 9 1/2. I lived in Alabama til my parents divorced when I was 15. Then we moved to Utah where I graduated from High School. I went to college for a year then worked for a year and went back. There I met and married my husband. We have been married for 25 years and have 4 children. I work with computers (geekish I know) and have had several callings (jobs if you will) in the church. I teach young girls about becoming future wives and mothers. I love to cook, read, watch movies, visit, dance and go for motorcyle rides with my hubby.

Why I am a Mormon

Well it's always made sense to me. I lived before I came here, I came here to gain a body, learn and grow and most importantly have the chance to choose my eternity. What all that means is the knowledge I have gained by applying the principles I have learned through being a mormon has brought me peace and comfort in knowing there is a reason for this life. My testimony (confidence) of the eternal truths as I follow the commandments of Jesus Christ, read the scriptures, attend church, do good continually, and ask for guidance grows. I am so blessed in all areas of my life. The ability to recognize miracles (which happen ALL the time) has increased each and every day that I choose to see them. I know that Heavenly Father (God) knows me, listens to my prayers and always wants to be a part of my life as long as I will let him. I know he has given us a Prophet to lead and guide us home. I know He came and visited Joseph Smith with His Son Jesus Christ when Joseph was only 14 years old (hard to believe maybe---but its TRUE!). I know He speaks to His prophet today Pres. Thomas S. Monson. I have tested if you will prayer, scripture study, doing good for others (yes, even and especially strangers), being willing to slow down and listen to a Father who only has my best interests at heart and I testify that they ALL work.

How I live my faith

I love serving. I love to serve in the church setting and in the community. I am a lunch lady at a local elementary school and I SO enjoy my work. I have had the unique opportunity in the past years to be a part of changing the negative energy in the school by having crazy dress up days in the kitchen!! The impact of being willing to put yourself out there, be silly, dress funny, basically getting them to smile and perhaps giggle is a wonderful experience. One group of motivated women understanding what it's all about moves mountains. I love to visit teach. This is an opportunity for myself and another woman in the ward to go and visit, teach and learn to love 2-3 sisters in the ward each and every month. I have gained life long friends, know I always have someone to turn to when I need something or someone and I have had the chance to serve them and love them.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Angie
One of my favorite truths to be sure. Knowing that there is life after this one...understanding that this life is just a small part of my existence is exactly what keeps me going!!! We believe that families can and should be together forever which is the sole purpose of our temples. Knowing that my ancestors, children, grandchildren etc.., can be with me forever is a very strong motivator to keep the faith and continue to move forward everyday. There is NO doubt that we live after we die..none. I have been blessed with way too many experiences to deny. When we are allowed to remember the before earth memories and see all the help we had from those who have gone before (ancestors) and those who are following us (children, grandchildren etc..,) we will be so humbled and amazed. Please if you get nothing else know this: YOU are not alone..ever. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Angie
Learn of Him through the scriptures!! Talk with him in your heart first and then out loud. He is always watching over you and sends angels (quite often in the form of other people) to answer questions and fears of yours. Please keep His commandments!! They are not binding...they are freeing from the shackles that being bound by lies, deceit, addictions,etc.., bring. Show more Show less
