Hi I'm Terry

I'm a husband, father of 3 daughters and grandfather of 9 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. I love being with them. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 47 years to a wonderful wife. We have lived in Utah , California and Arizona. I'm in my 70s and still love the outdoors. I love hiking, backpacking, fishing and running. I like to play golf but my game has deteriorated the last two years. I have two granddaughters that love to fish with their grandpa. One eight and one seven. I also have three grandsons that like to fish, however one of them doesn't like touching the fish. Arizona is great place to do these things. I spent almost 40 years in Insurance sales. I am now involved in a small business with one of my daughters. I enjoy running with my daughters and grandkids. I'm getting to be the slowest of the group. I still like going to the mountains and desert hiking and backpacking. The grandkids go and seem to like it. I really hope they will continue doing these things as they marry and get families of their own. My wife and I came from different backgrounds and had different interests, but we love being with each other and have found things to do together. We love traveling and go every chance we get. We both enjoy being with our family and spend a lot of time with them. Our lives do seem center around the family and Church, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It has brought us great happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the church and was baptized at eight years of age I still consider myself to be a convert. My family was never real active and I became inactive at about fifteen. I didn't really become active until I was about 26. I started going to church and gaining a testimony, however I never doubted God or Jesus Christ's existence. I was just a selfish teenager and it took time to wise up. Becoming active wasn't particularly easy are quick. It would have been a lot easier to stay active. But as I gained my testimony step by step and day by day, it has become a great joy in my life. I am so glad that I know that my savior knows and cares for me. I have put Moroni's promise to the test and have asked my Heavenly Father if these things are true. I received my answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ and have found that it works hand in hand with the Bible in testifying of Christ and his mission. Having a Prophet of God to guide me and to provide revelation to the Church is a wonderful blessing. I learned for myself that his teachings are true and by trying my best to live them I have found true joy and have been blessed. If I could be more perfect in living them I'm sure I would even be happier.

How I live my faith

The gosple of Jesus Christ is not just something you do on Sundays it is a way of life. My wife and I are trying to be good examples to others as well as our three daughters and grandchildren by living the principles of the gospel so we can someday live together as a family for eternity with our Heavenly Father. I live my faith by trying to follow and to obey the commandments of our savior Jesus Christ. Not perfectly, but I am trying to do better. When I have been called I accept opportunities to serve others and have found happiness in doing so. I have served in many positions in the church. The church gives me opportunities to serve others and by doing so I am serving my Heavenly Father. Living my religion isn't a burden. It's the source of true happiness and provides purpose to my life.
