Hi I'm Norm

As a mobile dj for 22 years I see the power of positive music. Great music is my soundtrack for a happy life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked in the Heavy Highway Construction Industry for the past 22 years. I am currently the Safety Director and Equal Opportunity Officer. We have projects in Arizona, Nevada, Utah and California. I enjoy meeting regularly with our people who build these projects. Being part of a group that provides something meaningful so many people is gratifying to me. Previously I worked as a General Contractor on both residential and commercial buildings. By trade I still consider myself to be a carpenter. It's satisfying to be a part of building something. Even home projects are rewarding. I have started many more than I have completed . . . my wife is patient!! I love time spent in my little garden. Home-grown tomatoes, cucumbers & squash make me happy!! There is just something about working in good rich soil. Love, love, LOVE music. I enjoy every type of music from showtunes to pop tunes. My wife suggested that I try being a Mobile Discjockey over 20 years ago. The setting up and tearing down of all the equipment isn't that fun anymore, but being part of celebrations has been great fun. I love to find just the right song that can make you want to dance, or tap your toes, or just bring a smile. The right music at the right time can have such a positive impact. Lifelong happy feelings can be tied to music. My wife and I even have our own personal playlist filled with songs that help us remember our good times and the tender feelings we have for each other.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been a great blessing and is very fulfilling for me. I find great comfort in the teachings found within the church. These simple truths, when applied to my life and in the life of my family bring joy and happiness. I feel deep within my soul that God is my Heavenly Father and that he has a plan for me. I long for a close relationship with Him. I feel that He hears and answers my prayers. I believe that he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to provide a way for me to return to Him. I am thankful to have scriptures that teach of Christ that I might follow his example. I believe that there is a living prophet today that helps me understand what Heavenly Father would have me do right now!! To participate in our congregation by donating my time and talents enriches my life. It is very fulfilling for me give what I can. In turn, my life is blessed by the efforts and talents of other people. We help and lift each other to reach our common goals. How uplifting it is to learn and worship and sing with others trying to do the very best they can. I appreciate the closeness we feel as we work together. It helps me be a better person around the house, at work and in every other aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working together with people and have recently received an assignment that allows me to interact with almost every member of our church group. Everyone who wants to has an opportunity to have an assignment or volunteer to serve in some manner. I can honestly say that I love the members of our congregation with all my heart. There is such strong love and support within our church family. We teach each other, comfort each other, we laugh together and we worship together. There is great strength in the togetherness. We become better as we help each other. I try to let my beliefs guide me every day in all that I do. I try to love as Jesus loved and treat people the way He treated them. I try to be a caring and supportive husband. I appreciate so much working together with my wife to be better people and to strengthen our relationship. I try to help teach and support my children, their spouses and our grandchildren. There is great love within our family . . . how I love these people!!
