Hi I'm Jaime

I was born & raised in Mesa, AZ. I graduated from BYU. I taught school for 5 years. I'm a wife & mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I taught elementary school for five years and still enjoy opportunities of teaching in my home, my kids' schools, and church. I'm a busy wife and mom of four children who are all under the age of 9. I feel like I spend much of my day driving kids around! I love reading, cooking, traveling (or dream of traveling), gardening (when it's not too hot here in AZ), and watching movies when I can find the time. I am very busy in my church position with working with the youth. But, I really enjoy it. Life is super crazy, but great.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church. What a wonderful childhood I had! I have wonderful parents who always set a good example for me of serving in the church and who had a great love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. They taught me that I had a loving Heavenly Father who I could pray to for help of any kind and that I had a loving Savior, Jesus Christ. This knowledge gave me strength to make good choices as I grew. I served a mission when I was 21 in eastern Canada. My testimony of the truth of the Book of Mormon, of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and of living prophets today was solidified. I also knew without a doubt that I truly did have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior looking out for me. They knew and know me personally. I continue to teach my children these great truths as my parents did for me. What strength and peace of mind these truths give me in my life. I know where I lived before I was born, I know what my purpose in this life is, and where I will go after I die. The Church of Jesus Christ has special organizations for children, teenagers, men, and women that are tailored for the needs of each person in whatever period of life they are in. What strength these organizations have given me as I've grown up in the church. I also have learned so much as I have had opportunites to serve in these organizations as leaders and teachers. I have gained more confidence in my self. My weaknesses have become strengths. But most importantly, I have learned to rely and trust in my Heavenly Father as I've been asked to do hard things. I love my life and serving in the church!

How I live my faith

I enjoy being a good neighbor. It is important to me to know my neighbors well. I try to build a relationship with them in which they feel they can ask me for help if they need it and I can do the same if I am in need. I love helping at my kids's schools. I find when I am volunteering, I'm happier, and life seems to go better. I love working with the teenage girls at church. I was quite fearful of teenagers in the beginning. But, I have learned that that was silly. I love their enthusiasm for life. I appreciate their goodness and strength as they live their lives. Being a teenager today is even harder than when I was a teenager. They amaze me as they choose good amid the temptation and trials of teenage life today. We have fun and meaningful activities every Wednesday night. On Sundays we have lessons tailored to their needs and trials they are facing right now in their lives. Seeing their goodness gives me hope for our future generations.
