Hi I'm Terri

I love my family, I love music, I love history, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was adopted--and it is a great story, but I'll keep it short here. I was born to a very young mother and father (my mother was only 14 and father was only 16) who made a difficult and selfless choice to place me for adoption. Neither of them belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but my adoptive parents were life long members. I have always found it fascinating and beautiful that God found that specific way for me to find this church. I now have 6 wonderful children, I volunteer every day at the local schools, and I enjoy exercising, studying history, and reading as much as I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't gain a true, individual testimony of this church until I was 18. I had loved attending and being involved with this church since I was a small child, but it wasn't until I left for college that I took the time to find out for myself it the things that were taught were true. I started focusing on my relationship with God and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I started to notice the blessings in my life, and I focused on improving my communication with them. As I felt their presence all around me, in every experience and every instance, my testimony grew. I knew I was a daughter of God, I knew He was watching over me, I knew Jesus Christ was the Son of God and that He atoned for my sins. That testimony has never left me. I found purpose and direction, I found a personal relationship with God and my Savior, these things have been so important in my life as I deal with the trials that fall into my path. I also have a love for the scriptures, I know we can learn from those stories. That is part of why I love history so much---the scriptures ARE a history! We know we can learn from the past. I appreciate the strong and faithful people who followed Christ, no matter what.

How I live my faith

I have a lot of fun with the local members of our church. I have the opportunity to help plan and carry out meetings for the women in our area. It is such a wonderful experience to develop friendships with these women. So many women feel overwhelmed and stressed about life--about raising families and working and helping out in the schools or community, and I love it when we can come together and listen to each other, helping our friends through their hard times. That's what this is all about, helping each other, lifting each other up, making each other smile and find optimism.
