Hi I'm Val

I was born in Idaho and raised in Arizona. I manage a small business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and we have three children, 2 girls and a boy. I love doing things with my wife and children. We enjoy the outdoors and like to go hiking, camping, fishing, anything that takes us into nature. We also enjoy family trips and vacations. Our favorite is visiting family in Japan. I enjoy all sports and now starting to enjoy my kids wanting to participate in sports. I most enjoyed basketball growing up and still enjoy watching a good basketball game. I also enjoy watching other good sports, when I can find the time. I manage a small business and have been fortunate to see much of the world in business activities. We lived breifly in England and Japan for work and completely enjoyed the experiences. I love going to other countries and getting to know and make friends around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a family that was very active in the church. It has always been a big part of my family life. My father and mother's families have both been active in the church for generations. While this has influenced my life tremendously it is the joy and happiness of living the gospel that keeps me active in the church. I feel the gospel has blessed my live in many ways. Because nor I or my live if perfect, the belief in a loving Heavenly Father and merciful Savior Jesus Christ gives me the help and desire to live the gospel. I have a wonderful wife that is the only member of the church in her family and she loves and lives the gospel with all her heart. We often talk about how the gospel blesses our lives and the lives of our children. I know that by following the simple gospel of Jesus Christ we can be happy now and enjoy an eternally happy family.

How I live my faith

We live the gospel each day by praying and studing the scriptures together as a family and individually. We try to help others by serving them and participating in the kids schools. We often talk at family dinner about what we learned and who we helped or can help or encourage. We regularly attend and participate in church worship services as well as church service projects. We meet together often as a family to learn and help each other. Like most members of the church I have a calling to serve others in our congregation. I am fortunate to serve and participate among the children, youth and adults. It is a wonderful experience to serve others and teach and learn together about the gospel of Jesus Christ. While I get to meet and discuss with people of all ages and backgrounds, it is truely great to see the gospel alive in the lives of so many. While I try to serve them I am receiving so much of their service and teaching. I try to live the gospel by asking myself what would Jesus do, and then try to do that my best.
