Hi I'm Lizzy

I love opera. I chase my nieces and nephews around the house like a dinosaur. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE opera. I'm kind of a geek. I love to explain the ones I know really well in modern-day language so that other people will find them as interesting as I do!! I also love soccer (playing and watching), reading (I've read Pride and Prejudice more times than I can count) and I love inside jokes. I hope to be part of one. Someday. I was going to college before my mission and I was studying music, English and theater.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised LDS, I still had to fight for my testimony. There was a time I wasn't sure if the Church was true or if I really even wanted to be a part of it. Luckily, through the influence of my mission-serving family, I was inspired to ask for myself if it was true and more importantly if God loved me and was listening. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt it is true and He was listening. I'm grateful for the knowledge that this life isn't the end and "that blessed assurance the Spirit doth bring."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an influence for good on those around me. I love to make peoples' day! There's a lot of sadness and confusion in the world nowadays and I love to share what I know about real, lasting peace and happiness. And they only come through living the Gospel, or the teachings of Jesus Christ. Right now, I am serving a full-time proselyting mission and I LOVE it. I'm learning Spanish and trying to find those lost sheep out there. I love being able to devote my whole time and attention to serving. It makes me happy and I hope it makes those around me happy, too!

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are the most sacred places on earth, literally the house of the Lord. It is there we are able to perform ordinances for ourselves and our ancestors that give us the Lord's promise that we will be together forever as long as we are faithful. There is nothing as assuring or comforting during the passing of a loved one as the absolute knowledge that we will be reunited because we were obedient to what the Lord asked of us during our time on Earth.
