Hi I'm Lynn Andrew Nelson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband of the most beautiful woman on earth, father of four great kids, and grandfather to the cutest children Heavenly Father could ever send to a family. I had been a teacher for fifteen years, but have been on active duty in the US Army since 2002 because of the war on terror. My life has been one of service: church, community, country, and family. I decided to go on a mission before I was baptized; I felt the need to serve and went despite not having a family to support me. I became a teacher and served my community. I enlisted in the Army Reserve and Army National Guard and served both my country and my community. Currently my wife and I serve together as service missionaries in our stake.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church as a young man. I could relate with Joseph Smith; I too searched for many years for the correct religion. When the missionaries taught me the gospel, I knew it was true, and I wanted it in my life. I could relate with the doctrines taught by these two young men; many of these doctrines I believed all my life. It was natural for me to become a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am not a perfect man, but I have always served my family, community, country, and my church. The gospel is simple to live, but it does a certain degree of discipline. Daily prayer, scripture reading, weekly meeting attendance, and living a clean life style are what I have done since joining the church. I guess living the Gospel is easy if you want it to be.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Lynn Andrew Nelson
This doctrine of baptizing our dead was one reason I joined the church. I could not believe that our Heavenly Father would not provide a way for those who have not heard the gospel to have a chance at baptism. When the missionaries taught me this priniciple, I knew it was true; that Heavenly Father did provide a way for all of his children to accept the gospel even if they passed from this life without a chance to accept it in mortality.
