Hi I'm Sam

I grew up in Montana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, and mother of five children. My "baby" just started kindergarten. I am now working harder at finishing my degree online through the Bachelor of General Studies Program from Brigham Young University. I am emphasizing in Family History. I have always enjoyed history, and what is more exciting than the history of my own ancestors? I also love to read, paint, and cook.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the church and I was raised in the gospel. I attended church regularly while growing up and continued to do so after I left home. It was while attending BYU that I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I was working long hours as a cook in a restaurant and those hours often came on weekends. I missed church a lot. At this time I was also dating a young man who held similar beliefs, yet vastly different. My association with him made me question my beliefs for the first time. Because I was at BYU I had access to a library full of church history. I studied this harder than any of my school subjects. This was the time when President Hinckley was being sworn in as the next President of the Church. I prayed harder than I had ever prayed before to know if it was true. The answer to my prayer came when I watched the congregation raise their hands to show their support for President Hinckley's calling. A feeling came through me, one I had never felt before. I KNEW it was true. I still get that same feeling every time I sustain our Church President, now President Monson. I still have no doubts, and am raising my children to trust in their Church Leaders.

How I live my faith

I am currently one of the counselors for the Primary Organization. We take care of the children in our church from the age of 18 months to 12 years. We have a lot of children in this range! We teach them songs about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We also spend 20 minutes each Sunday sharing stories about the gospel. I love doing this. Children are so full of faith and trust. They remind me on a regular basis how much our Father in Heaven truly loves us.
