Hi I'm Jill

My parents are converts to the church. My life has been blessed because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother to three wonderful kids, and wife to a very sweet man. I love to plan parties, entertain, decorate my house and bake! My number one job though is that of a mother, and I am passionate about creating a home that is comfortable and safe, for my kids, as well as anyone else who enters. I love to help my children learn life lessons, even though sometimes it is hard. I believe that kids should learn vital lessons at a young age to avoid heartache and chaos when they are older. I take my job as a mother very seriously, and it is extremely fulfilling to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I find great joy in living my religion. Having faith in the gospel simplifies everything. Some people think that the restrictions of the Mormon church are stifling. I believe the opposite is true. To have a firm conviction of the things you believe in takes all the guess work out of life's complicated situations. I am a Mormon because it makes my life beautiful and meaningful. I strive every day to see others as our Savior, Jesus Christ, sees each one of us. This is not to say that I haven't had struggles in my life, but it has helped me turn my anguish over to the Lord and truly forgive people that have hurt me. This has been one of the most powerful concepts that I have been able to integrate into my life, and has made me a very peaceful person.

How I live my faith

My three children, husband and I get up every morning at 6:15 to read scriptures together and have a family prayer. Life is very busy, with all of us going in different directions for the day, and this short time in the morning enables us to all be together and stay connected. It is a very special time to me, and makes it easy to get up! I am also a Cub Scout leader for the 9 year old boys in my area. I really enjoy spending time with these cute boys, and they are so eager to learn. It's fun to teach them anything! I have also organized very large parties at our church for big holidays like Halloween and Christmas. I really enjoy doing this and always have a fabulous turnout. One of my favorite callings is that of a visiting teacher. I am assigned to touch base with the same three women, once a month. I have really enjoyed getting to know them personally. They all have such strength, and have taught me so much. Without this program, I never would have been able to foster such a friendship with any of them. I mostly enjoy going to church each Sunday and learning more about my Savior. My husband teaches a Sunday School class for the 16-17 year olds. There are about 13 of them, and I am lucky enough to attend the class each Sunday. These kids are so amazing and fun. Their knowledge of the gospel in this uncertain world is truly astounding. They are true examples to their peers in every way. My daughter is one of them, and I am unbelievably proud of each of them. They will make honest and brave leaders of the future.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Jill
We believe that husbands, wives, and families can be sealed to each other forever. When you have faith in this principal, family harmony becomes very important. We must learn how to love and respect eachother here on earth if we expect to be with eachother forever. It makes trying to work on your relationship forefront in your mind. When you marry the person you love and bring children into the world, don't you want to be with them forever? I can think of nothing more painful than believing that we won't ever see eachother again. My faith in Jesus Christ and his plan helps deepen my love for my husband and children. Show more Show less
